Type: Part Time (20 hours)
Purpose of the Job: To coordinate the Adult Spiritual Formation programs as directed by the Associate Pastor. This includes being aware of Spiritual Formation opportunities, seeking leadership guidance on vision and priority of these efforts, matching opportunities and offerings with the Church’s vision, values and resources as authorized by the Session.
Accountability: The Coordinator of Adult Spiritual Formation is accountable directly to the Associate Pastor and through the Associate Pastor to the Personnel Committee of Session, the Session and to the congregation.
Relationships: The Coordinator of Adult Spiritual Formation relates to the Associate Pastor as supervisor; to the Elder for Spiritual Formation as the leader of team responsible and accountable for development and execution of West Hills’ Adult Spiritual Formation ministries. The coordinator works with Deacons for Connection Groups. The coordinator works with staff to ensure that the efforts of this ministry are integrated with the efforts of other ministries.
Responsibilities: The Coordinator of Adult Spiritual Formation participates in the development of strategies, vision and priorities for West Hills Spiritual Formation Ministry by:
Assisting in recruiting and training members of the InGathering team for Spiritual Formation
Coordinating a yearly plan of ministry for Spiritual Formation consistent the guidance proved by the Associate Pastor and upon approval of this plan, developing and maintaining a yearly calendar of events for the Ministry
Overseeing and coordinating activities of Adult Spiritual Formation Participating in the development of the budget for Adult Spiritual Formation programs
Recruiting and matching volunteers with the needs of the Spiritual Formation program
Identifying, coordinating and monitoring programs for: Adult Discipleship and Bible Studies, Men’s, Women’s and Senior ministry.
Identifying and recommending new or changed opportunities for Adult Spiritual Formation to leadership for approval
Measuring program effectiveness through attendance, feedback and demand.
Completing and/or insuring completion of the administrative and office work of the ministry.
Attend leadership meetings when requested
Evaluation: The Coordinator of Adult Spiritual Formation is evaluated annually by the Associate Pastor and meets with the Personnel Committee after that review. Subsequently, a report of that evaluation will be made by the Personnel Committee and to Session. A written report of that evaluation, signed by the Evaluating Pastor will be placed on File. During the course of that evaluation, the department description, job description and yearly goals will be reviewed.

Proven ability to work effectively on a relational team.
Ability to work independently within guidance provided by the Associate Pastor.
Self-motivated with demonstrated ability in problem solving and critical thinking.
Possess the ability to clearly communicate the vision and principles of West Hills Church both internally and externally.
Solid administrative skills, proficiency with PC use including a familiarity with a variety of software programs and the ability to learn new programs.
The knowledge of and experience using audio-visual equipment.
Completion of Bachelors Degree or equivalent required. Additional education or experience in ministry areas is desirable.
