Starting in 7th grade, students enter into the Next Generations Ministry at West Hills. Junior High students can participate in a number of exciting activities, including:
Sunday School: Starting at 9:30am every Sunday located in the Youth Lounge downstairs, junior high and high school students meet, eat doughnuts, and play games. Then junior highers split off from the large group and listen to a short bible message followed by a discussion. Sunday school ends at 10:30am.
Confirmation: Confirmation at West Hills Church is designed to lead our 8th graders into a deeper understanding of who God is and how the church as a whole functions. It is focused on enhancing biblical literacy while allowing the students to meet our staff members and learn first hand what goes on at West Hills on a daily basis. After a student is confirmed they are considered members of West Hills Church, with all the rights and responsibilities that come with that commitment. Confirmation is also a great time to build relationships and have incredible amounts of fun, both in and out of class.
Sunday Night Worship: From 6:30 - 8:00pm West Hills offers all students a chance to gather together to worship, hear a sermon, and break off into small group bible discussions. This is our Next Gen church service! We meet in the Youth Chapel which is located upstairs and to the right of the sanctuary.
The Next Gen Praise Band: All Next Gen students are encouraged to join the Next Gen Praise Band! 7th graders - recent college graduates are welcome to join. All musicians are needed. Singers, drummers, guitarists, pianists, bassists, saxophone players, violin players, hand clappers and snappers. If it's musical, we want you to join! But what if you don't play an instrument? No problem, be a part of our media team by running slides, doing light shows, running sound, and setting up our technology! We practice Wednesday evenings at 6:30 and perform during our Sunday Night Worship Services. If you are interested in joining please contact Luke Burns (Listed at the bottom of this page!) Need a little more encouragement to join? See the video below!
